The works were completed over a 6-week period, working at night to enable the courts to go about their daily business unhindered.
Solution
In terms of importance, Winchester Law Courts is second only to The Old Bailey as a trial court in the UK. They also play an important role in the heritage of the historic city of Winchester. The courts underwent significant refurbishment which included replacing a large amount of the windows.
Joedan Commercial negotiated a package with the client, Hampshire County Council, which placed great emphasis on the appearance of the replacement windows. Dealing directly with the Council’s ‘Heritage Surveyor’ Joedan’s proposal of installing ‘bronze’ powder coated sliding windows was deemed appropriate so as not to alter the appearance of the building.
